Doughnuts, schmo-nuts.

In my opinion, cupcakes rule when it comes to completely irresistible, single-serving sized desserts.  And I got such a craving for the cute confections after reading my friend Erin’s blog (Dessert Girl) about doughnuts reportedly being touted as the new “hip” dessert.

Pfffft!  As if!  ;-p

Nevermind that it was almost 9 p.m. at night… I immediately got the urge to make cupcakes.  And I did, using the basic chocolate cupcake and fluffy buttercream frosting recipes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World.

Demonstrating the undeniable allure of cupcakes, my hubby hovered nearby, watching, the whole time while I took pics of my cakes, and before my camera finished shutting down, he was already asking if he could eat one!  And he did… he devoured not just one, but two vegan cupcakes before retiring for the evening.  We both had one for breakfast too.  )

See?  Cupcakes rock.  Especially vegan cupcakes!  They’re so delicious, even omnis like them.

Doughnuts don’t stand a chance!
